William Benjamin Brown, age 88, of Elkton, MD, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. Born in Fayetteville, NC, on August 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Herbert and Alice Brinkley Brown.
Mr. Brown was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1947 until 1951. He retired from the Federal Government as a proof technician, following 38 years of service. A member of Jehovah's Witness, he loved the ministry of preaching God to others. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Brown treasured time spent with his family. He was an avid football and boxing fan, and enjoyed traveling, especially to Williamsburg, VA.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Yvonne Riley Brown; children, Earle W. Brown, Shelia Brown, Michael Brown, all of California, William B. Brown, Jr. and wife, Tanya, Maryland, Keith H. Brown, Pennsylvania, Tiffany M. Brown-DeVaughn and husband, Corey, Georgia, and Antoinette H. Brown-Roberson and husband, Micheal, Maryland; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his siblings, Edmond, Charles, Buster, Alice, Elizabeth, Christine, Louise and Geraldine.
Memorial service will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 6826-40 Ardleigh Street, Philadelphia, PA 19119. Interment will be private.
