Kathy Jean (Annone) Chamberlin
February 26, 1952-May 8, 2026
Kathy Jean Theresa (Annone) Chamberlin, of Elk Mills, MD, passed away peacefully Friday, May 8, 2026, surrounded by her family after struggling valiantly against cancer and kidney disease. Born in Wilmington, DE on February 26, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rose Annone. She married Stephen (Steve) Chamberlin, settled in their home in Elk Mills and was blessed with three children Jeanne Marie, Sandra (Sandy), and Paul.
Kathy grew up in Cleland Heights and attended St. Elizabeth's Catholic School. While earning an Associate's degree in Accounting at Del Tech, she worked for the state of Delaware in various roles culminating in the position of Supervisor for the Welfare Payroll System in New Castle County. She spent the next season of her life raising her three children and supporting them in all of their school and sports activities. All the while she remained a dedicated volunteer at Immaculate Conception School and Church in various ministries, at the Cecil County Men's Shelter, and Treasurer of the Elk Mills Civic Association.
Kathy's heart was always in the community. As her children grew and she began welcoming grandchildren, Kathy became more involved in her work at the Elkton Men's Shelter, Community Kitchen lunch program and elderly companion care. As she retired from those endeavors, she remained involved in the Mary Randall lunch program. It was a common occurrence for Kathy to get a call about several cases of donated food anything from salmon or donuts needing to be distributed, and then make calls to friends far and wide to share the bounty.
Kathy was a true friend who loved connecting by text or calls with friends and family. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. She was devoted to her 9 grandchildren and celebrated each of their birthdays with party favors and generous gifts. She lead the Grand Book Club, reading stories to grandchildren near and far. Throughout all she did, she was truly devoted to her prayer and faith.
She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. She is predeceased by her parents Paul and Rose (Ciotti) Annone. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Stephen Paul, her loving children, Jeanne Marie (Wilfredo) Saravia, Sandra (Ryan) Coiner, and Paul (Emily) Chamberlin, along with her most beloved grandchildren Jonah, Joseph, Isabel, Genevieve, Jacob, Abigail, Milagros, Thomas and youngest grandbaby on the way. She also leaves behind her faithful siblings, Paula (John) Maiorano, Deborah (Vincent) Falkowski, and Michael (Marguerite) Annone along with countless beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
