Katherine Ann Adkins Anders, "Kathy", age 53, of Altoona, FL, formerly of Elkton, MD, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016. Born in Oliver Springs, TN, on September 15, 1962, she was the daughter of Linda Owens Marshall and husband, Benjamin, Elkton, MD, and Jim Adkins and wife, Rose, Briceville, TN.

Mrs. Anders moved to Florida in 2001 and was employed as a clerk for Save-A-Lot. While living in Elkton, she drove a bus for Brown's Bus Service and the Cecil County Public Schools. She had been a volunteer rape crisis advocate for the Domestic Violence Center in Elkton.

In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband of 39 years, Barry A. Anders; children, Travis Anders (Marie Chow), Altoona, FL, and Sheri Ball (Chris), Altoona, FL; grandson, Landon J. Ball; and brothers, James Adkins (Jennifer), Rising Sun, MD, and Jesse Adkins (Tina), North East, MD.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2016, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be private.

Mrs. Anders was an organ donor. At the request of her family, contributions may be made to an organ donor organization of your choice.
