Jerry Allen Bower, Sr., age 73, of Elkton, MD , passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018. Born in West Jefferson, NC, he was the son of the late Wiley B. and Myrtle Bare Bower.

Mr. Bower retired from James Julian Construction, Wilmington, DE, as a pile driver. He was a member of the U.S. Bowling Association (USBA) and the NRA. Mr. Bower enjoyed hunting, fishing, "treasure hunting", and had played baseball for Pine Grove in his younger years.

Survivors include his children, Alicia Jones (David), and Jerry Bower, Jr. (Tiffany), both of Elkton, MD; siblings, Tinker Pollard (David), Michelle Logan (Rodney), both of Elkton, MD, Brenda Stevens (Jimbo), Terra Alta, WV, and Billy Bower (Theresa), North East, MD; grandchildren, Jessica Petersen, and Dustin and Zackery Hurt; 6 great-grandchildren; and his granddog, Toby Allen Bower.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bower was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Bower; and siblings, Marion Bower and Nancy Webb.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, will be private.
