Boyd Daniel Orr, "Dan", 71, of North East, MD, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Elkton on February 22, 1947, he was the son of the late Berkeley C. Sr. and Angeline Sauro Orr.

A U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam era, Dan retired as General Manager at Metal-Tech Inc., New Castle, DE, where he had worked for 30 years. He was a member of American Legion Mason-Dixon Post #194, Rising Sun, MD, and VFW Post #6027, North East, MD. He loved being with his family as well as playing tennis, fishing and showing his 1932 Roadster.

Survivors include his children, Gabriel D. Chadwick (Dennis), North East, MD, Nicole D. Thompson (Chad), Valhalla, NY and Stephanie E. Young, Elkton, MD; siblings, Beverly Synnestvedt (Eric), Lewes, DE and Berkeley Orr, Jr. (Liz), Elkton, MD; fiancée, Renie Ferguson, and four grandchildren, Dalton Young, Zachary Chadwick, Dylan Young and Paulina Thompson.

In addition to his parents, in 2006, Dan was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Bernadine F. Orr.

Funeral service will be 1 PM, Thursday September 20, 2018 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton with visitation beginning at 11 AM. Interment with military honors will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Singerly Road, Elkton, MD.
