Anthony J. Mallia
Anthony J. Mallia, age 85, of Elkton, MD, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011. Born on March 5, 1926, in Malta, Europe, he was the son of the late Salvatore Mallia and Concetta Spiteri Mallia.
Mr. Mallia was a retired chief superintendent for Adams Realty, New York City, NY. An avid collector of classic movies, he enjoyed traveling, carpentry, and was an excellent pastry chef. Mr. Mallia will be remembered as a beloved son and brother, and a faithful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carmen Lynch Mallia; children, Joseph A. Mallia (Mary), Baltimore, MD, Elizabeth C. Kiomall (Edward), Elkton, MD, William D. Mallia (Valarie), Johnson, NY, Rita C. Mallia, Chesapeake City, MD, Audrey C. Diotale (Ernie), Elkton, MD, and Anthony C. Mallia (Jennifer), Allentown, PA; siblings, Emanuel Mallia, Mary Mallia, Onesimo Mallia, Dolores Briffa, Evangelista Borg Bonacci, all of Malta, Europe, Frank Mallia, London, England, John Mallia and Victor Mallia, both of Sydney, Australia; grandchildren, Janice, Kelly, Theresa, Robert, Adam, Cheryl, Raymond, Jilliana, Anthony Jr., Michelle, Nicole, Ava and Leila; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mallia was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Paul and Charles Mallia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Church, 454 Bow St., Elkton, MD, with visitation in the church chapel beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow Mass in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Mallia to Immaculate Conception Church for Masses celebrated on behalf of Mr. Mallia, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921.
