March 21, 1944 – November 15, 2025
William Charles (Bill) Vassalotti 81, of Elkton MD, passed away November 15, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Wilmington, DE, to the late Anthony Charles Vassalotti, and Rebecca Anne Vassalotti (DeVore). Bill and his family moved to Cecil County in 1975. Bill worked for Kraft Foods for over 40 years in Newark, DE, and had his own tax preparation business for 35 years out of his home. Bill was a graduate of Claymont High School and Goldey Beacom College.
Anyone that knew Bill knew he was an avid sports enthusiast. Bill's passion for the Phillies was well known. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren over the years playing sports. He was an active member of the Elkton Little League and was an umpire for both softball and baseball for many years.
Bill also served as the Elkton United Methodist Church Treasurer for 16 years. He was very dedicated to the church and his faith.
Bill's greatest joy was his family. His children, grandchildren and great-grandson were his pride and joy. He never missed an event or a game.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Florence Frances (Fran/Frannie). His two Children, Anthony (Tony) Vassalotti (Tina) of Newark, DE, Rebecca (Becky) Young, (Wayne) of North East, MD. Two grandchildren, Jordyn Hurley (Bryant) and Jacob Vassalotti. His Great-Grandson, whom he referred to as THE Boy, Hunter McCoy.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and Wayne Vassalotti and nephew David Vassalotti.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Amedisys Hospice, especially Lauren, Regan, and his night time aide Karla, for their exceptional care of Bill during this difficult time.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, November 21, 2025, at Elkton United Methodist Church, 219 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, ATRT Research, in honor of Hunter McCoy Smith in care of Hicks Funeral Home, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
