William Robert "Bob" McCormick, Jr., 65, of Galena, MD, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022. Born in Elkton, MD, on April 13, 1957, he was the son of the late William R. Sr., and Patricia Hall McCormick.

Bob retired from Johnson Controls where he worked as a maintenance mechanic. A hardworking man, he took pride in his job, and was always a very dedicated employee. In his younger years he enjoyed playing pool, but throughout his life, he was always an avid sports fan, and he loved the great outdoors. Bob also had a canine companion, "Ms. Tee", whom he cherished dearly.

Survivors include his companion of 21 years, Carolyn Pitcher, Galena, MD; children, Chip McCormick, Cecilton, MD, and Trish Thomas, Midland, GA; grandchildren, Jaden McCormick, and Gemma Glover; and siblings, Davy McCormick, Chesapeake City, MD, Carrie Kelly (Wally), and Terry Clifton (Jeff), all of Elkton, MD.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Nicky McCormick.

The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at Compass Hospice, who cared for him during his illness.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 West Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Elkton Cemetery.
