Vanita M. Carroll, age 76, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Born in Elkton, MD, on April 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George and Agnes Boyd Mitchell.

Mrs. Carroll retired from Dr. John Mulvey's office where she worked as a medical assistant. A member of Elkton United Methodist Church, she enjoyed being with her family, reading, and traveling. One of her favorite places to visit was Ireland.

Survivors include her husband, William Carroll, Sr.; children, Vanita Gail Myers (Richard), Jacksonville, FL, Eugene McKinney (Cindy), Soddy Daisy, TN, Eric Carroll (Donna), Clayton, DE, and Shannon Warfel, Quarryville, PA; sister, Georgianna Thornton, Chesapeake City, MD; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Carroll, Jr., and siblings, Charles Mitchell, and Leonettra Wadkins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Elkton United Methodist Church, 219 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery.
