Thomas Edmund Hoefer, 76, of Elkton, MD passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023. Born in Webster City, IA, on December 26, 1946, he was the son of the late Edmund and Agnes Rikki Hoefer.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Hoefer retired from Purnell Body Shop, Elkton, MD, where he worked as a body man. He cherished spending time with his family, loved going fishing and hunting, and was an avid fan of John Wayne and any western movies.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice "Liz" Sugden Hoefer; children, Mark Hoefer (Dee), Jewell, IA, and Mary Hodge-Hoefer (Mike), Lenoir, NC; grandchildren, Thomas Hoefer, Christopher Hodge (Taylor), Harlie Hodge, and Hunter Hodge; great-granddaughter, Onyria Hodge; and siblings, Phil Hoefer (Terry), Humbolt, IA, and Joyce Davis (Bob), Ames, IA.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2023, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 West Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
