Thomas Wade Barker, 78, of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Born in Baltimore, MD on June 11, 1945, he was the son of the late Garnett W. and Frances Shepherd Barker.

A graduate of Elkton High School in 1964, Mr. Barker made many friends while growing up in Elkton. He retired as an assembler from General Motors after 30 years, loved Blue Grass music and was known as a kind and gentle man.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Gayle Essick Barker; sister, Patsy Mendenhall (Jay); sister-in-law, Marlene Maguigan (Richard); and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, as he loved them.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Monday, January 8, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
