Sylvia May Sluder, 91, of Elkton, MD, passed away, Monday, January 16, 2023. Born in Chattaroy, WV, on October 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Mathias and Ida Little Evans.

Over the years, Sylvia worked as a cashier at Publix grocery store in Florida, before moving back to the area where she retired from the Acme. She loved her late husband, Dale Sluder, with all her heart, and family and friends were very near and dear to her. An avid Elvis fan, Sylvia enjoyed going to Olive Garden, and she loved dancing.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Marquardt (John), Fullerton, CA, Betty Rogers (Bill), and Larry Dixon, all of Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Jessica Smith (Nick), Elkton, MD, Sara Sarvis, Lewiston, ME, Brooke Snow, La Habra, CA, and Larry Dixon, Jr., Pompano Beach, FL; and great-granddaughter, Destiny Dixon, Pompano Beach, FL.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sylvia was preceded in death by her son, Herb Dixon; and 14 siblings.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2023, at Moore's Chapel, 392 Blake Road, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
