Susanne Lee Meadows, 76, of Branson, MO went home to the Lord on Monday, October 14, 2024. Born in Wilmington, DE on May 13, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Sara Andrew McEvoy.
Susanne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother that left behind a legacy of love and compassion. Born and raised in Elkton, MD, Susanne graduated from Elkton High School where her vibrant personality shined brightly through cheerleading. She pursued her passion for nursing at St. Joseph's School of Nursing, graduating with her RN degree in 1970. On August 30, 1969, Susanne married David Meadows, embarking on a journey filled with love and adventure as David served in the U.S. Navy. Her nursing career spanned several states, including Charleston, SC, Perry, FL, Williamsport, PA and back to Elkton, before ultimately settling in Branson, MO. Susanne's last job, which she treasured, was as a cashier at Price Chopper, where she delighted in connecting with tourists and sharing stories. Beyond her professional life, Susanne was passionate about gardening, reading, and solving puzzles. She had a heart for helping those in need and found joy in sharing the love of the Lord with others.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, David Meadows; children, Pamela Meadows, Branson, MO, and Matthew Meadows, North East, MD; grandchildren, Jackson, Oliver, and Braelynn; nephew Will Moody; Perry, FL; and numerous other stepsiblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Gayle Moody; and stepsister, Luann Kurt.
Memorial service will be held 11 AM, Monday, October 28, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private in Elkton Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
