Shirley Faye Husfelt, 86, of Elkton, MD passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Born in Boone, NC on August 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Howell and Thelma Grogan Luther (Marvin).

Mrs. Husfelt retired after dedicating many years of service as a laundry assistant at a nursing home, where she was known for her hard work, kindness, and caring heart toward both residents and coworkers. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her beloved family. Mrs. Husfelt also loved relaxing with her favorite cooking shows, especially watching The Pioneer Woman and Guy Fieri. A lover of nature, she enjoyed bird watching and spending peaceful time outdoors, appreciating the beauty and calmness of nature.

Survivors include her children; Anthony Husfelt, Mark Husfelt (Sherry), Kevin Husfelt (Wendy), grandchildren; Stephanie Williams (Ranrick), Brian Husfelt, Jennifer Hall (Reed), Madelyn Husfelt (Andrew), Trenton Husfelt (Sarah) and Trevor Husfelt, great-grandchildren; Denvor, Eastin, Alrick, Cassidy and Melanie, siblings; Larry Howell and Karen Day, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years; Carl J. Husfelt.

The Husfelt family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their exceptional and loving care especially Lauren, Lexie, Jordan, and Tova.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
