Shirley Temple Cordill, 83, of Elkton, MD passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Born in Garden Creek, VA on January 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Sarah Stiltner Day.

Shirley dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a loving home. She poured her heart into every aspect of daily life, taking great pride in making her home a warm and welcoming place for all. Shirley's love was especially felt in the meals she prepared. She found joy in spending time with her family, especially during camping trips that became treasured traditions. A gifted crafter, she enjoyed making jewelry and sewing, expressing her creativity with every handmade piece. Shirley also had a beautiful singing voice and a deep love for music. She shared that joy through music ministry at local nursing homes, bringing light and comfort to many. Shirley's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, John Cordill; children, Tammie Sylvia (Kenneth), Newark, DE, and Anthony Cordill (Tina), Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Mary Kate Sylvia, Cody Cordill, Caroline Roff, and Nicole Cordill; great-grandson, Liam Cordill; her siblings, Phyllis Scarberry, Terry Day, Tommy Day, all of Elkton, MD, and Jaquetta Puckett, Hillsville, VA; and her beloved K-9 companion, Jake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 10 siblings.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
