Sharon Elaine Gardner, 69, of Elkton, MD passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Born in Elkton on February 17, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gwyneth Oakey Proctor.
Sharon retired after many dedicated years as a production operator in the solar manufacturing industry. She was also a proud member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Elkton. An avid bowler, Sharon could often be found at Cecil Lanes, enjoying the game and the friendships she made there. It was at Cecil Lanes that she met her beloved husband, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love and shared joy. Sharon was deeply devoted to her family, with a special bond with her grandson, and she cherished the time they spent together, particularly during family reunions. Her favorite times of the year were the Fourth of July and Christmas, when being together meant the most to her.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Charles Gardner; children, Kimberly King, Pike Creek, DE, and Joshua Gardner, Elkton, MD; grandson, Lucas King; her siblings, Helen Wilson, Ashland, KY, David Proctor (Betty), Albuquerque, NM, Ceri Luzetsky (Ronald), Elkton, MD, Russell Proctor (Charlotte), Galena, MD, Richard Proctor (Nancy), Elkton, MD, Brian Proctor, Elkton, MD, Joseph Proctor (Nora), Newark, DE, and Alesia Coppedge (Gregory), Northern Virginia; brothers-in-law, William Gardner, Elkton, MD, and Ken Lucas, Chesapeake City, MD; sister-in-law, Mary Snyder (Ray), Elkton, MD; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Mildred Proctor; nephew, Matthew Proctor; in-laws, George and Mary Gardner; brother-in-law, Scott Wilson Sr.; and sisters-in-law, Dolores Proctor, Patricia Lucas, and Georgia Howard.
Funeral service will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 1 PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hicks Home for Funerals, P.A. at the above address.
