Sarah Ann McClain, 79, of Elkton, MD passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Born in Wilmington, DE on December 4, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Alfonzo and Ann Curry Piazza.

Mrs. McClain was retired from MBNA after many years of dedicated work as a secretary, where she was known for her professionalism and warm spirit. A devoted member and volunteer at First Assembly of God Church, she faithfully served her church community. Mrs. McClain also loved gardening and took pride in nurturing beautiful flowers and plants. She enjoyed spending quiet moments reading and she especially found great joy in studying her Bible. Mrs. McClain will be remembered for her infectious laugh, unwavering faith, and dedication to her family, friends, church, and community

Survivors include her children; Shari Amrhein (Rick), Westminster, MD and Robert Spotts (Linda), Newark, DE, grandchildren; Matt Amrhein (Kayla), Keri Johnson (Connor), Hannah Spotts-Everardo, Joshua Spotts-Everardo, great-grandchildren; Jesse, Maggie, and Benjamin, and brother; Robert Piazza, Elkton, MD.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister-in-law, Gail Piazza.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
