Russell "Buddy" Clarence Lawson, 84, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born in Elkton on June 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Margie Lawson.

Russell worked as an assembler for Chrysler Automotive for over 37 years, where he was known for his dedication, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Russell lived life to the fullest. He was an avid bowler and proud member of the American Bowling Congress. He especially enjoyed breakfast with friends, solving word puzzles, collecting and building model cars in his spare time.  He also loved sports and fellowship, Russell played volleyball regularly and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church softball team.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Betty Sue Lawson; children, Duane Lawson, Elkton, MD, Ron Lawson (Kathy), Wilmington, DE, Shannon Lawson, Elkton, MD, and Josh Lawson (Amanda), Loganville, GA; and grandchildren, Joshua and Leighton Lawson.

Funeral service with military honors will be held 11 AM, Monday, November 3, 2025, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
