Roy Cecil Johnson, 71, of Middletown, DE, passed away, Friday, December 16, 2022. Born in Wilmington, DE, on November 16, 1951, he was the son of the late James, Jr., and Virginia Bare Johnson.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Johnson retired from ShopRite, Newark, DE, where he worked in the maintenance department.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Dorothy Laviolette Johnson; children, Lisa Johnson, Elkton, MD, Nathan Johnson, Newark, DE, Jesse Johnson, Townsend, DE, Samantha Johnson, Baltimore, MD, Paula Oals, Warwick, MD, Michael Oals, Newark, DE, and Steven Oals, Elkton, MD; siblings, Joan Logan, and Pete Johnson, both of Elkton, MD; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, and a brother.

Committal service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
