Obituary

Rosemary Baker, 76, of Chesapeake City, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, Rosemary was the oldest of three girls to the late William Krochak and Betty Jean Adkins. Born and raised in Elkton, Maryland, Rosemary graduated from Elkton High School.

Rosemary dedicated 47 years of her life to Formosa Plastics where she built and nurtured so many amazing relationships. In recent years, she worked at Duffy Creek Marina, where she was known for her warmth, dedication, and friendly spirit.

She was a long-time resident of Chesapeake City, Maryland, where she lived surrounded by numerous family members, on what was lovingly known as the "compound". Rosemary was a lifetime member of the Chesapeake City VFW Post Auxiliary 7687.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wallace (Todd), her son James Baker and her cherished grandsons Trent and Cade Wallace. She is also survived by her devoted and loving sister, Christine Crouse (Larry), whom she shared countless memories with including shopping trips, lunch dates and endless laughs. Rosemary will be missed immensely by her nephews, her niece and their families, Larry Crouse (Maggie), Shawn Jones (Sharon), and Tina Jones (Frank).  Although predeceased by her youngest sister, Carol Jones, her memory lives on through her husband, Bill Jones. Rosemary will be remembered with love by countless others who considered her family. Known affectionately as "Aunt Rose" or "Mommom", Rosemary had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and at home.

She was preceded in death by her longtime partner and companion, Jimmy Carroll, with whom she shared many years of love, laughter and life's simple joys. Their bond was one of deep friendship and lasting affection, and his memory remained close to her heart.

Her happiest times were spent surrounded by loved ones – playing bingo, sharing laughs over card games, or cooking family meals. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, where her famous biscuits and gravy, chicken noodle "scared" soup, and fried chicken brought generations together. These meals and memories created around them will be forever cherished. Rosemary's legacy is one of deep love, unwavering loyalty, and life lived with and for her family and friends. She cherished the many lifelong friendships with some very special women. Her generosity, kindness and gentle presence will be missed more than words can express.
