Rosa Lee Painter, 88, of Elkton, MD passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026. Born in Groseclose, VA on January 12, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Bishop Harden and Anna Groseclose.

Mrs. Painter enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, sewing and crocheting. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her beloved family. Her love, kindness, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children; Roger Painter (Sharon), North East, MD, James Painter (Margot), Bowie, MD and Darlene Osborne (Bryan), Smyrna, DE, grandchildren; Jennifer, Kristi, Jason, Shannon and Delaney, great-grandchildren; Zachary, Jade, Lexington, Maximus, Hailey, Maverick, and Mylah.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years; Joseph Painter, great-grandchildren; Vivian and Maddux, three brothers and one sister.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-6 PM, September 20, 2026, at the North East VFW Post 6027, 815 Turkey Point Rd, North East, MD 21901 with service beginning at 4 PM. Interment will be private in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Elkton, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North East VFW, at the above listed address.
