C. Rodney Haley, 85, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Friday, November 18, 2022. Born in Elkton on November 10, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles and Katherine Alfree Haley.

Roscoe had an extreme love for his occupation, and after 42 years of working for the City of Newark, he retired; finishing his career as an electrical line supervisor. He had served in the Army National Guard in Elkton. Roscoe was active in many different sports, such as fast pitch softball, and enjoyed watching NASCAR. An avid runner, he was often seen on Elkton/Newark Road, or sitting out in front of his home on Appleton Road, where he would wave to those passing by. Roscoe loved mentoring neighborhood children, treating them as if they were his own. He will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eudena "Dean" White Haley; sister, Virginia Harvilla, Chesapeake City, MD; nieces and nephews, Tom Meekins, Todd Meekins, Julia Lakatos, Paddi Cathell, Bobby Haley, Steve Meadows, and Jennifer White; step-grandchildren, Zack, Hope, and Joy; and granddog, Snow.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Haley was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Haley; and brother, Robert Haley.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2022, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD  21921. Funeral service with military honors will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, at Hicks Home for Funerals, with interment to follow in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Singerly Fire Company, or to Tunnel to Towers, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, at the above address.
