Rodney Arthur Founds, age 76, of Newark, DE, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Born in Elkton, MD on April 6, 1946, he was the son of the late William Arthur and Alice Currinder Founds.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Founds retired from the Chrysler Corporation, Newark, after 35 years. He was a lifetime member of Singerly Fire Company, Elkton, where he served on numerous committees and held many positions, including Chief of the Department. An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, he loved being with family, friends, hunting and fishing with his first mate.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Barbara Guida Founds; daughters, Pamela Adkins (Andrew), Fenwick Island, DE, Tracy Shives (Todd), Elkton, MD, Lisa Winder, Newark, DE, and Wendy Novotny (Joe), Bear, DE; grandchildren, Christopher Adkins, Jonathon Adkins, Matthew Adkins, Thomas Adkins, Paige Shives, Sarah Shives, Samantha Winder, Michael Winder, Joseph Novotny, Alexis Novotny, and Regan Novotny; great-grandson, Chase Adkins; and sister, Carol L. Babby-Cylc (Kevin), Marshallton, DE.

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, April 3, 2023, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, with visitation beginning at 10 A.M. Entombment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
