Robert Francis King, Jr, 76, of Rising Sun, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey on June 30, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert Sr., and Clara Dannenburg King.
Bob graduated from Salesianum School in 1966, enlisted in the US Army, and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return to civilian life, he enrolled at Washington College in Chestertown, MD, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He then pursued a career at Chilton Book company as an automotive editor. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, woodworking, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Jodi Albright King; daughters, Laura King, Owings Mills, MD, and Abigail King, Washington, DC; siblings, James King, Colora, MD, Michael King, Warne, NC, Peggy Guenthner, Lynchburg, VA, Ben King, Zion, MD, and Mary Winstead, Price, MD.
Visitation only will be held from 9:30 AM– 11 AM, Friday, August 2, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Service and Interment will be private.
