Robert "Bob" John Poorman, 77, of Elkton, MD passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Born in Buffalo, NY on June 20, 1947, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary Maney Poorman.
A proud veteran, Bob served his country in both the U.S. Navy and the Army National Guard. After retiring from his role as a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor at Chrysler, Bob continued to live life to the fullest. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending much of his time outdoors. A true fan of NASCAR, Bob enjoyed following the races and cheering on his favorite drivers. He was also a dedicated volunteer with the Department of Natural Resources, sharing his love for nature and wildlife with others.
Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Linda Hall Poorman; children, Connie Lewis (Peter), Elkton, MD, James Poorman, Chesapeake City, MD, Vicki Hall (Brian), Elkton, MD, Richard Banks Jr. (Katherine), Newark, DE, Joanna Banks, Elkton, MD, and Jaimee Staton, Newark, DE; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Carol Ludwig (David), Delaware.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Monday, February 3, 2025 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment with Military Honors will be in Sharps Cemetery, Fair Hill, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
