Robert Jeffrey "Jeff" Craig

Robert Jeffrey "Jeff" Craig, age 39, of Earleville, MD went to be with the Lord July 29, 2011 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Elkton, MD on October 16, 1971, he was a devoted son and caregiver to his ailing father, Samuel P. Craig, Earleville, who survives him. He is also survived by his mother, Phyllis Barnett Craig, Earleville, MD.

A 1989 graduate of Bohemia Manor High School, Jeff had a passion for farming and worked in various areas of the industry as well as overseeing the family farm. He was happiest behind the wheel of a tractor pulling a plow, working ground. As a teenager and young adult, he enjoyed working at the Cecil County Fair and had been on the Junior Board of the Fair. He also participated in tractor, riding lawnmower and truck pulls. He had been a member of Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his brothers, Samuel A. Craig and wife, Joann, Elkton, MD and William Jason Craig, Dover, DE; aunts, Sandra K. Barnett, Elkton, MD, J. Debra Haman and husband, H. Samuel, Earleville, MD, Phyllis Leo, Avondale, PA, Brenda Craig and husband, Fredus, Cecilton, MD and Alberta Biggs, Chesapeake City, MD; nephews, Eric and Timothy Craig; and niece, Casie Craig, all of Elkton, MD. He is also survived by his loving friend, Renee Kidd.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Evelyn Craig and William ¿½Buck¿½ and Lorraine Barnett; uncle, William R. ¿½Bob¿½ Barnett and wife, Beverly; and their son, Brian.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Grace Community Baptist Church, 226 Main Street, Cecilton, MD where visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service in Zion Cemetery, Cecilton, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cecil County Fair, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD.
