Richard “Butch” Michael Shrewsbury, 57, of Elkton, MD passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Born in Elkton, on August 22, 1968, he was the son of Shirley J. Blankenship Shrewsbury and the late Richard Arlen Shrewsbury.

Butch was a self-employed residential construction worker who took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his life.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and was happiest hunting, fishing, and crabbing. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace and joy in nature and treasured every opportunity to spend time outside.

Above all, Butch cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He was a loyal friend, a devoted family man, and had a special place in his heart for dogs.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter, Terri E. Nichols, Colora, MD; grandchild, Kyson “Chunk” Reid Woodie, Colora, MD; siblings, Sherry Shrewsbury, Shelby Clough (John), and Darrin Shrewsbury (Kim), all of Elkton, MD; 11 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great- nephews.

Memorial service will be held 11 AM, Friday, July 31, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
