Rebecca Sue Pennington, age 52, of Newark, DE, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Born in Benton Harbor, MI, on October 13, 1969, she was the daughter of Susan L. Bravender and the late Donald C. Griffin.

Mrs. Pennington had been an accounting clerk for Ingleside Retirement Apartments, Wilmington, DE. She loved watching her son play baseball and her daughter compete in gymnastics. A loving devoted wife and mother, she did anything and everything for her family, loved spending time at the beach, and visiting the mountains of North Carolina.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Bobby J. Pennington, Jr.; children, Bobby J. Pennington, III, and Samantha B. Pennington, both of Newark, DE; siblings, Laura Baxevanis, TN, Sandra Griffin, VA, Christina Griffin, IN, and Deborah Griffin, MS; father-in-law, Bobby J. Pennington, Sr., Bear, DE; brother -in-laws, Philip Pennington, New Castle, DE, Matthew Pennington (Ola), Purlear, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
