Paul John Juergens Sr., 90, of Elkton, MD passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Born in Elkton on December 2, 1934, he was the son of the late William and Pearl Boyer Juergens.

Paul spent many years on the road as a truck driver for a car carrier business, a career he took great pride in, always ensuring every delivery was handled with care and dedication. Off the road, Paul found his greatest joy in the simple things, such as gathering with family, swapping stories, and listening to the sweet sounds of bluegrass music. Each winter, he and his wife would head south to explore RV parks across Florida, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the sense of community that came with their travels.  Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children, Mary Dakin, Lincoln University, PA, Paul Juergens Jr., Clyde, NC, Victoria Sheehan (Charles), Middletown, MD, and Michael Juergens, Berlin, MD; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Nancy Scarborough Juergens; and his brother, Rev. William Juergens, OSFS.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 PM, Monday, April 28, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation from 10:30–11:45 AM in the Church Chapel. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities–Dioceses of Wilmington, or to Alzheimer's Association, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, P.A. at 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
