Patrick Robert Mulhern, age 71, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at Christiana Hospital of Pancreatic Cancer, Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Born in Pottsville, PA, on October 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Patricia Young Mulhern.

Pat was an avid boater and skydiver aka "Parachute Man", from when he skydived into the Veterans Stadium to bring the game ball for the 1977 Philadelphia Phillies game.

Pat had many friends from his almost 25-year career at New Castle County Vocational Technical School District, where he taught Structural Steel Design; from the Georgetown Yacht Basin, where he slipped his beloved boat; and also, many great friends from the skydiving community. His BIG BOLD personality will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 37 years, Penny J. Mulhern; son, Ryan P. Mulhern (Chrissy); their children, Kylie and Reagan; daughter, Victoria L. Ostroff (Adam); and their son AJ; brothers, Robert Mulhern, Tom Mulhern (Anita); sisters, Susie Mulhern, and Pam Mulhern; stepmother, Suzanne Mulhern; several nieces; and 2 nephews.

The family would like to thank the Helen Graham Center (Dr. Jamal Misleh and staff), for giving Pat the medical care that helped him live for 19 months after a stage 4 diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, and the staff of Christiana Hospital for their kindness.
