Patricia Ann Timko Hitchcock, 67, of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Born in Wilmington, DE on October 27, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Julianna Borys Timko.
A 1967 graduate of Elkton High School, Pat was a dedicated employee of Union Hospital for 45 years where she had been clerical supervisor in the Emergency Department and more recently had worked in One Day Surgery. "Miss Pat" as she was known to many of her co-workers, was a kind, caring and compassionate woman with a glass half full attitude about life, always seeing the silver lining in even the most dire situations. She spent her time taking care of her family and most enjoyed her day trips with her daughter, going to tag sales, visiting New York, and even going on a cruise or two. She liked to do puzzle books, read, crochet and garden.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Thomas Hitchcock; children, Thomas R. Hitchcock, Elkton, MD and Pamela Hitchcock Muschler and husband, Peter, Staten Island, NY; grandson, Joshua A. Hitchcock; siblings, Anthony Timko and wife, Cyndi, and Judith Hicks and husband, Donald, as well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Catholic prayer service will be held 12 noon, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, 21921 where visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Appleton Road, Elkton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the funeral home at the above address.
