Nancy Elizabeth Chadwick, age 77, of Elkton, MD, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Born in Elkton on April 14, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Sr., and Goldie Grub Evans.
Mrs. Chadwick worked for many years in the cafeteria for Cecil County Public Schools, where she was known for her kindness and dedication. She cherished time with her family, loved playing Scrabble, reading a good book, cooking meals for those she cared about, and sewing. Her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, John T. Chadwick, Jr., (Anne), Elkton, MD, Nancy E. Rice, Chesapeake City, MD, Holly R. Lenderman (Dave), North East, MD, April D. Nichols, Elkton, MD, Matthew S. Chadwick, Elkton, MD, Tiffany A. Labhart (Ricky), Port Deposit, MD, Brittany A. Chadwick, Elkton, MD, Jessie L. Sprouse, Port Deposit, MD, and Kirstyn M. Jackson, Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Ryan Chadwick, Joshua Sinex, Brandie Sinex, Zechariah Sinex, Van Rice III, Ashley Bolte, Roxanne Rice, Crystal Rice, Michelle Deitrich, Stanley Lenderman, Jackie Lenderman, Lillian Nichols, Melody Nichols, Ethan Chadwick, Rylee Quinn, Mason Chadwick, Matthew Chadwick, Keith Labhart, Jeanette McSwain, Daisy Chadwick, John Chadwick III; great-grandchildren, Thomas Chadwick, Chevelle Chadwick, Shawn Sinex, Michael Sinex, Caleb Brown, Copper Brown, Harper Brown, Birdie Brown, Hannah Rice, Hailey Rice, December Rice, Van Rice, IV, Jack Rice, Alex Bechara, Raven Rice, and Cylde Quinn; great-great grandchild, Namiah DeJesus; and brother, Dave Evans, Rising Sun, MD.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chadwick was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, John Thomas Chadwick, Sr.; son, Luke W. Chadwick; siblings, Thomas Evans, Jr., Darlene V. Entrekin, and Marlene E. Trimble.
Funeral service will be held 12 noon, Friday, January 16, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Sharps Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
