Minnie R. Combs

We celebrate the life of Minnie Rosetta (Brown) Combs who went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Minnie was born in Wilkesboro, NC on March 22, 1913 and has been a resident of North East, MD for 70 years. Minnie was 99 years old.

She was the loving wife of Raymond Thomas Combs who preceded her in death November 1984. They were married 51 years until death parted them. Minnie was the loving mother to Rosalee Combs (Elkton, MD), Edra Davis (North East, MD) and Wade Thomas Combs (Leona, TX). She was also the loving grandmother to 9, great-grandmother to 19, and great-great-grandmother to 3.

In addition to her husband, Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, William Arthur Brown and Nancy Jane (Brooks) Brown, 4 children, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and 1 infant great grandson.

Minnie was blessed to have a long, full life that spanned 10 decades. We are thankful for the time she was in our lives. She has deeply touched each one of us, and we will miss her dearly. We're comforted knowing she is in Heaven where there's no more pain, no more suffering and no more sorrow.

Minnie's life celebration will be held at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Raymond in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
