Mason Edward Shrewsbury Sr., 79, of Elkton, MD passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Born in West Virginia on April 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Carnes and Virginia Aileen Gladwell Shrewsbury.
Mr. Shrewsbury was a retired maintenance supervisor at Chrysler, where he was known for his hard work, kindness, and dedication to those around him. He enjoyed golfing, working around the house, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Mr. Shrewsbury took great pride in having traveled to all 50 states, embracing the experiences and memories each journey brought. Above all else, he cherished time with his family. Mr. Shrewsbury will be remembered for his generosity, warm spirit, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
Survivors include his son; Bryan Joseph Shrewsbury (Angela), daughter-in-law; Jennifer Shrewsbury, grandchildren; Melissa Shrewsbury, Tyler Shrewsbury (Alexis), Cheyenne Lemon (Robert), and Cameron Shrewsbury, great-grandchildren; Aiden, Mason, Madelyn, Benjamin, and Theodore, siblings; Darrell Shrewsbury, Larry Shrewsbury, Roger Shrewsbury, Ronnie Shrewsbury, Freda Covell, and Sharon Shrewsbury, god-children, Nicole Heinrich (Christian) and their children, Chayton and Samantha, and Sabrina and Giovanni Nardo-Branch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years; Anita Lynda Angeletti Shrewsbury, son; Mason Edward Shrewsbury Jr., granddaughter; Scarlet Paige Shrewsbury, siblings; Ernest Shrewsbury, Elva McKinney, Shirleen Cordle, Curtis Shrewsbury, and Gerald Shrewsbury, and mother and father-in-law; Fred and Liz Angeletti.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, April 10, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921 with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital (ATTN Memorial Giving), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
