Mary "Pat" Perez, 84, of Newark, DE passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Born in Baltimore, MD on June 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marguerite Fitzgerald Lardner.

Mrs. Perez was a retired administrative assistant from Du Pont. She was a dedicated member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 7687 in Chesapeake City, Maryland, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed her time to supporting veterans and her community. Mrs. Perez had a love for traveling and cherished the experiences and memories she made along the way. At home, she found comfort in baking, especially her beloved brownies.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years; Gerardo "Jerry" Perez Jr., children; Michael Perez, Gerard Perez and Christine Perez-Mecke (Bill), three grandchildren, one great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her five siblings, and granddaughter; Susan Lee Perez.

Funeral service will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD  21921, with visitation beginning at 1 PM. Interment will be private.
