Martin "Marty" James Bolte, age 84, of Newark, DE passed away Friday, January 16, 2026. Born in Wilmington, DE on May 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph Theodore and Naomi McDaniel Bolte.

Mr. Bolte retired after more than 37 years of dedicated service as an assembler and inspector for Chrysler Corporation, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to quality. He was a proud and faithful member of Baldwin United Methodist Church and a longtime member of UAW Local #1183. He was also a former member of the Cecil County ABATE Motorcycle Club, reflecting his love of the open road and camaraderie with fellow riders. Music was one of Mr. Bolte's greatest joys. He loved playing the guitar and sharing that passion with others, finding comfort and expression through music throughout his life.

Survivors include his loving companion of 40 years, Linda Blansfield; children, Holly J. McDowell and Kenneth J. Bolte, both of Newark, DE; granddaughters, Sara McDowell-Boone (Michael) and Ashley Bolte; and great-granddaughter, Layla Boone.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bolte was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel J. Bolte, and brother, Ralph Bolte.

The family would like to thank Accent Hospice and Dr. Liu for their exceptional care of Marty during this difficult time.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD  21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery will be private.
