Martin Howard Cockerham, 89, of Townsend, DE passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Born in Bel Air, MD on August 19, 1936, he was the son of the late Henry and Dorothy Ewing Cockerham.

Mr. Cockerham was a retired truck driver where he dedicated many years to life on the road, taking pride in his work and the independence it brought him He enjoyed trips to the casino and had a deep appreciation for all things with a motor, especially racing, NASCAR, and Formula 1.

Survivors include his children; Martin Dean Cockerham (Cindy) and Dottie Sanders (Rick), four grandsons, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years; June Louise Cockerham, and brother; Bob Cockerham.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Friends Burial Ground, Calvert, MD.
