Luther Barnes Welch, 86, of Summerfield, FL, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021. Born in Tazewell County, VA, on October 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Luther and Nannie Doss Welch.

Mr. Welch retired from the Chrysler Corporation, Newark, DE. Twenty five years ago, he and his wife, Jane, retired to Spruce Creek South in Florida, where he became an avid golf and softball player. Mr. Welch loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Jane Huggard Welch; children, Faith Frushon (Ron), Indiana, Luther Welch (Mari), Maryland, and Stacy Honeycutt (Brian), Delaware; siblings, Tommy Welch, West Virginia, Polly Scott, Maryland, Vernie Welch, Arkansas, and Judy Bullock, Maryland; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Bonnie Price, Albert Bowman, Billy Welch, and Clara Cianelli.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Private interment with military honors will be held in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
