Louis “Nick/Lou” Clayton Nickle Jr., 96, of Elkton, MD passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Born in Middletown, DE on June 16, 1930, he was the son of the late Louis Nickle Sr. and Margaret P. Henderson Nickle.

Mr. Nickle was a proud US Army veteran, faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Elkton and was a Noble Grand in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He loved spending his free time in nature where he enjoyed both fishing and boating.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years; Janice K. Nickle, son; Robert Nickle (Carol), daughter; Dawn Larsen (Erik), seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and sister; Margaret F. Kirk.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children; William Nickle, Louis Nickle III, Michael Nickle, and Kenneth Nickle, brother-in-law; John Kirk Jr., and first wife; Dorothy Nickle.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, October 9, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
