Lori Lynn Sturtz, 64, of Elkton, MD passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Born in Newark, DE, on November 30, 1961, she was the daughter of Betty Newton Moore and the late Howard Moore.
Lori will be remembered for many wonderful things including the lasting impact she made on her community. For more than 25 years, Lori proudly owned and operated Squires Ice Cream Shop, along with her husband, Sean, a beloved local gathering place that became a cherished staple in the Town of Elkton.
She found her greatest happiness in the simple things she loved most. She adored her dogs, who were her constant companions, and never missed an opportunity to take a road trip in search of new adventures with her husband, Sean. She had a deep appreciation for wildlife, especially wolves, whose beauty and strength she admired throughout her life.
In her younger years, Lori was an avid softball player and generously gave her time volunteering at a local horse rescue, reflecting her lifelong compassion for animals.
Survivors include her loving husband of 16 years; Sean Sturtz, son; Jeremy Hawke, Finksburg, MD; grandson, Braxton Hawke; sisters, Debbie Keister, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Kris Moore, Ocean View, DE.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, 239 Turpentine Creek Lane, Eureka Springs, AR 72632
