Loretta Kay Reed, 84, of North East, MD passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Born in Elkton, MD on November 18, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Calista Bedwell Davis.

Ms. Reed retired from Cecil County Public Schools where she had been a kitchen assistant for many years. She found immense joy and fulfillment in her job. Outside of work, Loretta cherished the time spent with her family.

Survivors include her children, Beverly Burchett (Steve), Charlestown, MD, Dorothy Strickland (Bill), Hudson FL, Cheryl Reed, North East, MD, Nathan Reed, Dover, DE, and Rita Burchett (Ray, Sr.), North East, MD; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Ralph Davis, North East, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Kathy Pierce, and Jack Culver; and siblings, Harry Davis, Jr., Luke Davis, Andy Davis, Richard Davis, Raymond Davis, and Patricia Davis.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
