Lloyd "Huey" Harrison, 88, of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, June 3, 2024. Born in Runnemede, NJ on March 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Lloyd Edward and Effie May Withers Harrison.
Huey proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge, he had worked as a Produce Manager and later retired from Acme Markets after 36 years. Huey's passions extended far beyond his professional life. He had a remarkable talent for building and could construct just about anything with his own hands. His love for the outdoors was evident in his meticulously groomed lawn and vibrant garden, where he spent countless hours nurturing and enjoying the beauty of nature. Above all, Huey treasured his family and found immense joy in spending time with them, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters, Susan Dacey (Mark), Sharon Gahagan (Stewart), and Karen Meekins (Brian), all of Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Erica Dacey, William Dacey, Kyle Gahagan, Cole Gahagan, and Carson Gahagan; and his sister, Cassey Taylor, Lewes, DE.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Marie Blochowsky Harrison; brothers, Russell Harrison, and Talmadge Harrison; and sisters, Elizabeth LaGue, and Betty Carroll.
All services will be private with interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, P.A. at 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
