Linda Sue Cox, 77, of Elkton, MD passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Born in Tazewell County, VA on March 7, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Margie Ellen Jones.
Linda retired after many years of dedicated service as an administrative assistant for Union Hospital and Dr. Hsu. She had been a cherished member of Crossroads Bible Church, where her faith and love for others were at the heart of everything she did. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including gardening, walking, and reading. Above all, she treasured spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making memories that will forever be held close to their hearts.
Survivors include her children, Timothy Benton Cox and his wife, Pam, Lisa Ann Frey and her husband, Troy, all of Newark, DE, and Tammy Denise Talley and her significant other, Christopher Roman, of Elkton, MD; 8 grandchildren, Lauren Gasdia and her husband, Brandon, Tyler Frey and his wife, Debra, Matthew Cox and his wife, Rebeca, Michael Cox, Madison Hopkins and her husband, Tarik, Emily Scannell and her husband, Ben, Jordan Talley, and Avery Talley; 5 great-grandchildren, Finnley, Judah, Oliver, Aria, and Isaac; her siblings, Carl Dan Jones and his wife, Lynn, of Elkton, MD and Nancy Jordan and her husband, Leland K. "LK", of West Grove, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Ira Benton "Bart" Cox; and beloved nephew, Ross Michael Jones.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, March 14, 2025 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Paris Foundation at P.O. Box 812, Elkton, MD 21922.
