Linda Rae Brown, 79, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born in Wilmington, DE on March 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Wanda Hewes Cumens.

Mrs. Brown was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She retired as a bus aide from the Christina School District and previously worked in the banking industry as a payment supervisor. Mrs. Brown was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and willingness to always help others.  As a proud 45-year member of the Wilmington Trapshooting Association, she was also a member of the Delaware Farm Bureau. Mrs. Brown loved NASCAR and drag racing and was an avid football fan.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years; Allan P. Brown, Jr, children; Kent A. Brown, Allan P. Brown III, Newark, DE, and Robin L. Brown, Dover, DE, grandchildren; Alicia, Anna, Raymond, Heather, and Lindsay, great-grandchildren; Isabela, Raegan, Kenndahl, Mia, James, and Falin.

Funeral service will be held 1:45 PM, Friday, January 9, 2026, at Hicks Home For Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 12:45 PM. Interment will be in Pencader Cemetery, Glasgow, DE.
