Leon Charles Rising, 85, of Elkton, MD passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024. Born in Snyder County, PA on April 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert and Pauline Leitzel Rising.

Mr. Rising proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge, he had worked as a laborer and later retired from Konica.

Survivors include his children, Darlene Darragh (Jim), Leon W. Rising, and Juanita Spinelli; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and his life-long partner of 49 years, Jane Haley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Brent Rising, and Yavonne Rising; and all of his siblings.

Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held 12 PM, Friday, November 1, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 11 AM. Interment will be private.
