Laurie Anne Farmer, 61, of North East, MD passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Born in Elkton on September 9, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. Bowers III and Dolores A. Johnson.
Laurie was a caregiver for many years, where she was known for her kindness, gentle nature, and dedication to her community. She was also a member of North East Methodist Church where she worked in custodial services. Laurie had chosen this occupation so she could still care for her son. She enjoyed being with nature and gardening, was a great competitor when it came to board games, and loved keeping up with her favorite gameshows. Laurie will be remembered for her caring heart, warm smile, and the many lives she touched along the way.
Survivors include her son; Matthew Farmer, four grandchildren, sisters; Sandra McDonald (Peter Lutz), Elkton, MD and Linda Sten (Michael Campbell), North East, MD.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Bruce Bowers and Arthur “Artie” Bowers IV.
Funeral service will be held 2 PM, Friday, May 29, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 1 PM. Interment will be in Rosebank Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Bridge: Cecil County Domestic Violence Crisis Center, PO BOX 2137 Elkton, MD 21922.
