Kevin Patrick McGroerty, 71, of Elkton, MD passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Born in Chester, PA on June 14, 1954, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Phyllis Murray McGroerty.

Mr. McGroerty retired as a lead technician from Northrop Grumman, where he dedicated many years of skilled service. He was a passionate outdoorsman and longtime member of the Upper Chesapeake Bass Masters. He especially loved bass fishing and cherished annual trips to Chincoteague to watch the Pony Swim with his loved ones. In addition to his professional and personal pursuits, Kevin gave back to his community by coaching basketball and softball for MOT Charter School. He was also a proud member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO), where he shared his love of the game through fair and dedicated officiating.

Survivors include his son, Daniel McGroerty, Newark, DE; grandsons, Hunter Bower and Gene Plank; siblings, Michael McGroerty (Karen), Seaford, DE, Sharon Hight (John), Cape May, NJ, Thomas McGroerty (Elaine), Middletown, DE, Mary McDonald (Matthew), Huntington Valley, PA, Harry McGroerty, Riverton, NJ, Phyllis Hennessy (John), Coatesville, PA, Helen Wright (Robert), Lower Gwynedd, PA, John McGroerty (Jenna), Eliot, ME, and Jeanette Hildwine (Fran), Nottingham, PA, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Sheila J. Bower McGroerty; son, Joey Bower, and niece, Melissa McGroerty Fisher.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Monday, October 13, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 9 AM in the Church Chapel. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
