Kennith Vernon Smalls, 84, of North East, MD passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026. Born in the Bronx, NY on July 11, 1942, he was the son of the late LeRoi and Barbara Okane Smalls.

Mr. Smalls was a yard master with NYC Transit Authority for 20 years. He was a proud retired United States Army veteran who served his country with honor. Mr. Smalls was a faithful member of Five Rivers Church, where he found fellowship and spiritual strength. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years; Kum-ok Kim Smalls, children; Kevin Smalls (Valerie), New Windsor, NY and Keith Smalls (Rosemarie) Long Island, NY, grandchildren; Sade Smalls, Elijah Smalls, and Kaitlyn Smalls and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter; Lashawnda Johnson, brother; Sidney and sisters; Anita and Deborah.

Funeral service with military honors will be held 11 AM, Monday, November 2, 2026, at Five Rivers Church, 290 White Hall Rd, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
