Joseph "Joe" Fleming Simmons, 83, of North East, MD passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born in Henry County, VA on August 29, 1942, he was the son of the late Reiman and Hattie Virginia Prillaman Simmons.

Mr. Simmons was a retired Electrical Contractor and owner of M & S Electric Company. He proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard, was a member of the Cecil County Electrical Board, and was actively involved with the Indian River Lakes Conservancy, as well as previously with North East Little League. He enjoyed fishing, playing card games with relatives, spending time outdoors, and feeding wildlife. Above all, Mr. Simmons was a devoted, family-oriented man who cherished time spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kindness, strong work ethic, and the joy he found in both his family and community.

Survivors include his children, Donna Nichols (Ernest), Aberdeen, MD, Dawn Simmons, North East, MD, and Lance Simmons (Susan), 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister; Shirley Carter (Jim), Newark, DE, and his beloved K-9 companion; Bandit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother; Kenneth Simmons, and his sister-in-law; Bonnie Simmons.

Celebration of life service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Baldwin United Methodist Church, 756 Elk Mills Road, Elk Mills, MD  21920.
