Joseph Lee Montgomery, 62, of Elkton, MD formerly of Rising Sun, MD went home to be with the Lord after a six year battle with cancer.  passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023.  Born in Jennersville, PA on December 10, 1960, he was the son of the late Richard and Janet Moore Montgomery.

The co-owner of Cherry Grove Tree Farm, Mr. Montgomery worked at W.L. Gore and previously with Montgomery Brother Builders.  He loved being with his family, especially Ava Grace, and enjoyed the outdoors.  He had been a 4-H leader.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Susan Bower Montgomery; daughters, Vanessa Montgomery and Amanda Montgomery both of Elkton; granddaughter, Ava Grace Stevenson, and sister, Carol Whitenight, Berwick, PA;  brother, Gary Preston (Ann), A.J, Dempsey , Rising Sun, MD who was like a son to him as well as many special friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hosford and Stone Run Family Practice for all of their support and care.

A Celebration of Life service will be held11 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 150 Downin Lane, Port Deposit, MD  21904 with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.'
